Q: Why did the Beastie Boys name their new record To the 5 Boroughs?
A: The more appropriate name of Some Old Bullshit was already taken.

What's the sample on "Open Letter to NYC?" It's killing me.

this review needed a "ZING!" at the end

The sample is from "Sonic Reducer" by the Dead Boys.

If I think of a good zing, jtb, will you edit it?

Posted by nick on June 11, 2004

no, i meant the actual word "zing" (with exclamation point for emphasis)

Crap, you're right! Now that we've built the joke in the comments section, though, it would seem kind of dumb to go back and edit the review.

God, this album is quite the drivel.

Wow! Are you serious? You don't like this album??? I'd say it was the freshest since "Paul's Boutique". 10x better than their last outing. Old School=New School

Well, whether it's shit or not, at least that music video is pretty cool.

Usually our tastes are pretty similar Paul, but I've got to disagree with you on this one. I dig the beats and rhymes on this one...I'd say moving back to NYC was a good good thing for the Beaties to do.

Didn't they move back to NYC even before they made Hello Nasty? I seem to remember people saying that's what the catalyst for Nasty's renewed vigor was. Boroughs just sounds stale to me. Maybe they need to move someplace new.

"to the 5" is light years ahead of you posers.
wait 4 years and you'll be saying it's a classic.
"It's like lettuce, tomato, and munster on rye,
all this cheese gonna make me cry.
Gorganzola, provalone,
don't even get me started on this microphone."
MCA layin down the blueprint, you dorks
